Rose and Bubba's early Christmas

Well, I have to been busy to say the least. I am done (almost) with my hardest semester of dental hygiene school! Next semester is just about getting through my clinic and rotations and passing my board exams and then I can FINALLY be working again. I will be looking for a part-time job over break though to help out at home.
I went to BOSTON last weekend for my board review with a few other girls in the class. We had fun and the review was very helpful. It was given by DH Seminars and the speakers were fantastic. We got a great study resource so hopefully I can pass my boards in March and be ready to work by graduation - May 16th.
Since I have been so busy with school, I haven't done any holiday decorating. I even debated doing it at all. I felt like a real scrooge. BUT, Jack mentioned going to get a tree today and so we are going to decorate after all. I figure once the tree is in, I will be more in the decorating spirit. I did mail out over 150 Christmas cards this year.

Rose and Bubba got a package in the mail from Trixie and Rocky in Virginia!! They LOVE all their good stuff. So many new toys and cool new collars and yummy treats. They got the package and sniffed it all up and then were all over the stuffies and bones.

We are going to get our tree today so when I get my decorating done, I will take some pictures.

I'll post more in a few. I have been so busy with school and it is almost over for the semester. If I make it out alive, I will be forever grateful!

So Little Time

I feel like I never have enough time these days. Next week is THANKSGIVING! I can't believe it. My semester is coming to an end soon and boy do I feel the pressure. Not too much time to post these past few weeks. I am so busy with school and I can't wait for the holiday's! I love this time of year but it is flying by with our busy schedules.
Mugsy, left us last Friday. He went to a new forever home. I was so sad to see him go. I will miss his sloppy kisses and dinner time serenades. He went to a good home though so I know he'll be happy and loved.

Tomorrow is Miss Avah's (our niece) birthday!!! She turns 4 years old. She is just the cutest and sweetest thing. Happy Birthday Miss Avah! We love you very much.

Peace Valley Park

Yesterday we took advantage of the nice fall weather and packed up Avah (our niece) and the three dogs and went to Peace Valley Park. It was so nice outside and the dogs needed to get out.
Mugsy is doing very well after his surgery and is now looking for a permanent home. I will miss him very much when he leaves. He is such a sweet boy. He is doing really good with Rose and Bubba and enjoys snoozing on the couch. I thought Bubba was the loudest snorer but he tops them all.

World Series Champs!!!

Woooohooooo Phillies!! Finally a win for Philadelphia sports fans! Jack (the husband) in particular! I love that everyone is in a good mood here and the news coverage is mostly good news about the Phillies for a change.
We just watched the game at home and i was so nervous but they came through. The parade in Philly is tomorrow at noon and I think they are expecting 1 million people to attend. That is too many people for me to go but I hope it is fun for all who do go.

Halloween 2008

We had our annual Halloween party last Saturday and it was a hit as always! Everyone is so good with their costumes - I love seeing how creative everyone gets! So this year we had the entire Gilligan's Island crew with two Gilligan's (can never have too many Gilligan's), we had some flappers, pink ladies, Philadelphia sports fans and players, pumpkins, mermaids, cowboys and Indians and even Kid Rock and Pam Anderson! It was so much fun - I can't wait to see what you all come up with next year!!!

Meet Mugsy

Our new foster English Bulldog, Mugsy, is ADORABLE! He is so handsome and SO sweet. He needs to be neutered but other than that any family is LUCKY to have this boy. He loves Rose and Rose is not having any of it. All she wants is him to play ball with her. He'll chase her but he doesn't want the ball. He is spectacular with little kids too.
The poor boy does have epilepsy, which is controlled by meds, other than that, he is perfection. I don't think HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue will have trouble finding him a home at all.

Table Clinics

We had our table clinics yesterday at school. I am so glad they are over so I can move on to midterms and my other projects that I have to do. Just one more thing done for the semester!

This is a picture of our class after we were all done with our presentations. I happen to think we all did a nice job.

The Incredible Shrinking Dog

Is our Bubba getting a waistline? Here a few pictures. Judge for yourself. I really think that he is big boned for the most part ;-).

He does act like a starved crazy man though so he may be shedding some lbs but he definitely notices the difference in food. He is hounding us all the time for our food.

Fall Photos

Please hurry and take the picture, his breath stinks.

Ahh, some fresh air.

Ahhhh I love the fall. I love the coolness in the air and all the colors and all the outside activities. It is my FAVORITE time of year, which then leads up to my second favorite, which is the holiday season. It all puts me in such a good mood. Even with the economy being what it is (crap), I still feel so excited that there is a lot of family activities coming up and fun traditions to uphold.
So I made my kids pose as they were laying on the deck yesterday. They looked so cute outside and it was so nice that I just had to snap a few photos. Plus, last year on clearance I got them matching Halloween collars that I wanted to at least put on them for a little bit.

Tonight I am meeting my friend Heather for dinner with Mandy. I am excited because I haven't seen Heather since summer and she is moving back in November! She has interviews on Monday at Penn Hospital so GOOD LUCK Heather!!!

My Birthday Week

Well, I turned 31 on Sunday! I am getting into my 30's now, which is so weird. No more 20's for me. I didn't do a thing on my birthday and that is exactly how I wanted it. I didn't even change out of my pajamas. School has been kicking my butt for weeks now and my weekends are almost just as crazy so I didn't want to do anything except lounge and watch tv and maybe read a little.

The rest of the week went by in a flash. I went to a children's hospital on Monday to clean teeth and I went to the VA hospital on Wednesday and had classes all the other days. Tomorrow I am in the school clinic all day and then I pick up a new foster baby named Bubba! Two Bubba's in one house. This Bubba doesn't really like other dogs though so it is going to tough keeping them seperated again.

The rest of the weekend I hope to do something fun and get some school work done. I have alot coming up with table clinics and midterms. I need to stay caught up and keep going. Dec. 16th, please get here soon!!

Heather (Frizz) is moving home on November 5th!!!! Less than a month away. Miss Frizz will be in town!!! She was in San Diego for four years. Countdown is on!

Rose and Miss P

Here is my attempt at a video. It is a little (a lot) dark and I am constantly say "rose", "P", "rose", Miss P" but we'll try to get better ones now that we kinda know how to do it.

This is Rose being miss bossy pants with our foster Miss P. Little does Miss P know that she could just eat Rose in one gulp. Next will be the introduction to Bubba.

Miss Piggy

It was a rainy and dreary weekend in eastern, PA. It was busy none the less. Saturday morning Jack and I got up and went to Upper Frederick's Community Day representing HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue and Bubba came along. It wasn't all that busy since it drizzled most of the day but we had a few interested families. Next year we'll know to take a tent and I will be baking some cookies for fundraisers.

Sunday I picked up Miss Piggy in Langhorne, PA. She was surrendered to HSBR because they couldn't take care of her and didn't give her any attention. She is SO affectionate and loving. She is hanging out in the basement because we are not sure she'll get along with our two kids. She is a real sweetheart though. She just wants love and attention. I need to get her a bath and clean out her face wrinkles but right now she is just hanging out in the basement with her beds and blankets. They had a metal choker around her neck that was so small on her that I could barely get it off. We almost had to cut it off. I bought her a new stuffed toy and a pink collar of her own on our way home. She is very sweet but on the way home in the car, she was passing gas that made me tear up. I had to have the window down in the pouring rain. It was toxic. Hopefully the good food we have will help with that - hopefully. We'll be fostering her until she finds a wonderful family to take care of her.

Anywho, tomorrow is the start of a new week. Busy as usual but taking it for what it's worth. I hope the weather clears up and we can start enjoying nice long walks outside in the cool fall weather. The pups will love that and so will my thighs.

Oh and Jack got a new shirt!

Happy Birthday Rose!

Today Rose turns 2. I can't believe she is only two, it seems as though we have had her forever. She is sleeping on my lap as I am typing. Tonight for her big day, she'll get to have some special treats after dinner and I'll give her the Brad "Pittbull" stuffy that we got her to rip apart.

Happy Birthday little Rosie Toes!

Hershey Park

Yesterday was a beautiful day for Hershey Park! The weather was so nice so we got up, Avah went to dance class and we whisked her off to Hershey, PA. She rode some rides, went through the chocolate factory, played some games and of course, ate some chocolate!! It got a little crowded and the lines were pretty long but I think she had fun. I know I did. I am a big dork and love nice amusement parks. We also checked out the little zoo they have there.
Avah fell asleep in her little rented stroller. She was just so tired from dance class and all the amusements.
