Sweet Violet

We drove to New Jersey today to pick up sweet Violet ("Vi"). What a love bug she is.

Violet is supposedly around 5 years old and has never been to the vet! Poor girl was put into a shelter after her owner went into a nursing home. Her skin is very dry and red and her eyes are sore but she is on the road to a better life. She goes to the vet on Tuesday for the works so wish her luck. She will be ready to go to her forever home soon enough.

Although on the outside she looks to be in pain and discomfort, she is the friendliest and most gentle bullie girl, I ever met. She loves to snooze in her perla bed and LOVES to play with her toys. She doesn't even need a playmate to play with her, she bounces the tennis ball around just fine on her own.

Keep her in your thoughts for her vet appt. on Tuesday and that a great family finds her soon so she can be loved and cared for like she deserves.

Time for new deck furniture

It's a bit windy here today and this is what we came home to. The table completely flipped over the deck railing and shattered into the fence. Thank goodness it did not hit the window!!! Branches and debris are just flying everywhere around here. I guess it was time for a new table outside. Rose doesn't even want to go outside. Poor thing looks like a flying squirrel.

Please excuse the half painted deck. It needs to be repainted this spring/summer. The outside jobs keep piling up! I hope the garden fairy delivers me a wonderful garden this year too. I would love fresh veggies to eat. (Dad, that's you).

Matthew's 4th Birthday

Our nephew, little Matt, turned 4 last Saturday and he had a basketball birthday bash to celebrate. I think that all the uncles and fathers had a great time too. The kids played basketball the entire time, ate some pizza and had some cake! What a great 4th birthday party!
Have a great 4th year little Matt!!!

Chocolate and Cookies!

Saturday is little Matthew's 4th birthday so I am making basketball cookies to go along with his basketball themed PARTY!! He is having family and friends over at the Stanton's barn where they have an indoor basketball court and the kids are going to shoot some hoops and probably hula hoop some. I decided to try and make some chocolate lollipops for the kids too. It was easier than I expected and not as messy. I hope the kids love them. I don't think the parents will love all the sugar! I should be giving out a toothbrush along with all the cookies and candy.

Anyhoo, I will post some pictures of the birthday boy on his birthday. I am sure it will be a fun day.
