Miss Piggy

It was a rainy and dreary weekend in eastern, PA. It was busy none the less. Saturday morning Jack and I got up and went to Upper Frederick's Community Day representing HeavenSent Bulldog Rescue and Bubba came along. It wasn't all that busy since it drizzled most of the day but we had a few interested families. Next year we'll know to take a tent and I will be baking some cookies for fundraisers.

Sunday I picked up Miss Piggy in Langhorne, PA. She was surrendered to HSBR because they couldn't take care of her and didn't give her any attention. She is SO affectionate and loving. She is hanging out in the basement because we are not sure she'll get along with our two kids. She is a real sweetheart though. She just wants love and attention. I need to get her a bath and clean out her face wrinkles but right now she is just hanging out in the basement with her beds and blankets. They had a metal choker around her neck that was so small on her that I could barely get it off. We almost had to cut it off. I bought her a new stuffed toy and a pink collar of her own on our way home. She is very sweet but on the way home in the car, she was passing gas that made me tear up. I had to have the window down in the pouring rain. It was toxic. Hopefully the good food we have will help with that - hopefully. We'll be fostering her until she finds a wonderful family to take care of her.

Anywho, tomorrow is the start of a new week. Busy as usual but taking it for what it's worth. I hope the weather clears up and we can start enjoying nice long walks outside in the cool fall weather. The pups will love that and so will my thighs.

Oh and Jack got a new shirt!

Happy Birthday Rose!

Today Rose turns 2. I can't believe she is only two, it seems as though we have had her forever. She is sleeping on my lap as I am typing. Tonight for her big day, she'll get to have some special treats after dinner and I'll give her the Brad "Pittbull" stuffy that we got her to rip apart.

Happy Birthday little Rosie Toes!

Hershey Park

Yesterday was a beautiful day for Hershey Park! The weather was so nice so we got up, Avah went to dance class and we whisked her off to Hershey, PA. She rode some rides, went through the chocolate factory, played some games and of course, ate some chocolate!! It got a little crowded and the lines were pretty long but I think she had fun. I know I did. I am a big dork and love nice amusement parks. We also checked out the little zoo they have there.
Avah fell asleep in her little rented stroller. She was just so tired from dance class and all the amusements.

The Lean Machine . . .

. . . well not yet. Bubba is moving around more than usual these days. I don't know if it is the crisp air that is a sign of fall or if it is the new anti-inflammatory he is on. Whatever it is, it's got my Bubs movin'.
Tonight though, he is just lounging on the couch with us. I think that tomorrow I will take him for a stroll and see how far he gets! I think he might do a little better than 5 minutes this time!!

Bridget's 1st Birthday Party

Yesterday was also little Bridget's first birthday and there was a PARTY! She looked so cute in her little pink dress. Bridget recently learned to walk so she wanted to walk everywhere yesterday. She did so good with all the people at her house, the kids had fun and the adults had fun sitting in the cul-de-sac with their wine. Plenty of games to be played and good company.
Happy Birthday Bridget!

Avah's First Dance Class

Avah had her first day at dance class Saturday morning at 8:00 am. I met her and her mommy at Starbucks at 7:30 am and we had a nice little breakfast and went right over to the studio. The adults sat in the waiting area and could watch the kids on a tv. It was so cute and Jane had Avah's attention right from the start. I think she loved it. Avah got to wear her ballet shoes first and then they got to wear their cool tap shoes. She did really good on her first day.

School

Well, a full week of school is over. The first week is always crazy because they lay out the entire semester to you and then you are left wondering how you will ever get all that work done in just three months. That is just one class. Then you go to the other four classes and feel the same way. I had three clinic days already and finished my senior citizen/special needs patient! I am excited about that. Now I have to keep my other days filled with patients. I went to St. Chris's hospital on Monday and worked. It was really busy and it was quite an experience. They just kind of throw you into the mix and the chaos and you have to figure it out from there. It's interesting.
This weekend is little Bridget's 1st birthday so I am going to bake some cute cookies for her. She is walking now and still has her red hair. I'll get some pictures up from her birthday.
I am starting to eat my sour patch kids again. That is my stress food during school. I don't realize how many I am shoveling into my mouth until the empty bag of sugar is laying there.

Dogtown

Rose was really into Dogtown on National Geographic last night. She was practically still through most of the show watching. The show was about the Vick pit bulls that were taken to Best Friends Animal Society (the largest no kill animal shelter in U.S.) and rehabilitated. It was interesting to watch the dedication the trainers have to the dogs.
We visited a new pet store today and Bubba and Rose got their pictures taken by the owner to put on the wall. Rose was not very well behaved when four miniature schnauzers came in but Bubba was laid back as usual. He is too cool for any other dogs.
That about sums up our weekend so far. Football season started so that is what Jack has been doing all day and it is pouring outside so not much else to do.

Dad Got a Cell Phone!!

Now he can chat with his favorite granddog whenever he wants! Yes, I know it is 2008 and he is just getting a cell phone but he has been busy.
The first week of school is over and only 14 more to go!!! What an overwhelming week it has been. I just have to get through it one day at a time and I think we'll all be ok. I don't have time to get too stressed about it.
I am recruiting patients though so if you are in PA on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday and need your teeth cleaned, I'm your girl! If you know anyone in the area with a flexible schedule and may need their teeth cleaned send them over to Harcum Dental Clinic for the most thorough cleaning they will ever have.

School Starts Tomorrow!

And oh how I am dreading it! The patient last minute cancellations, trying to find a patient to come in and the exams. The countdown to graduation begins tomorrow! I just hope it goes by fast, as much as I hate to wish my life away. I hope I can keep up with the posts as the semester goes on! It is going to be a busy and crazy semester! It ends on December 16th and I have a MONTH break to study for boards and to try to relax before my last semester.
